Who won the 2024 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup circuit?

The circuit of World Cup of Rhythmic Gymnastics is a prestigious stage that involves athletes and national teams from all over the world and that of 2024 did not disappoint expectations.

But how does the Circuit work? Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup 2024?

The World Cup is a circuit which involves athletes and teams both in the All-Around and in the specialties which included five overall stages in 2024:

  • 22-24 March 2024, Palaio Faliro (Greece);
  • 12-14 April 2024, Sofia (Bulgaria);
  • 19-21 April 2024, Baku (Azerbaijan);
    26-28 April 2024, Tashkent (Uzbekistan).
  • 21-23 June 2024, Milan (Italy).

The aim for athletes and teams is to obtain the best possible placing in each stage, so as to accumulate special points, assigned as follows:

At the end of the last stage in Milan, the number of special points obtained (the best of only three stages) from the gymnasts and the teams were added together and only one could claim to be the winner of the circuit at the All-Around level and also on the individual apparatus.

THE PRIZE – In 2024, cash prizes were awarded in every single stage to the winners at both the All-Around and individual apparatus levels. Furthermore, the International Federation has awarded additional cash prizes to the first three teams and the first three athletes in the final All-Around ranking of the circuit (this additional prize is not available in the individual apparatus rankings). More specifically, 5000 Swiss Francs to the first placed individual, 3000 to the second and 2000 to the third. For the teams, however, the additional cash prizes amount to 7000 for the first, 5000 for the second and 3000 for the third.

ITALY IN THE APPARATUS WORLD CUP

Sofia Raffaeli2023 winner of the circuit, won the hearts of the public in every stage again this year, accompanied stage after stage by her teammate and training Fabriano gymnastics Milena Baldassarri, who achieved an eighth place in the clubs on the circuit. It also marked participation in the circuit Tara Dragaswho in Sofia achieved an excellent fourth place in the hoop and also a sixth place in the ball. Viola Sella And Giorgia Galli they both participated in the Tashkent stage, although they did not reach any final.

The Italian national team did not fail to enchant the public in all stages of this circuit except the one in Tashkent with the starting lineup Alessia Maurelli, Daniela Mogurean, Agnese Duranti, Laura Paris, Martina Centofanti And Alessia Russo. Always on at least one podium in every stage, Italy brought to the stage all the determination necessary to shine.

SECOND PLACE – Sofia Raffaeli (ITA) with 120 points;
