The idea of ​​a young Friulian designer awarded at the Compasso d’Oro

Andrea Ceschin won the Targa Giovani at the Compasso d’Oro.

It bears the name of Demetra, the project by Andrea Ceschin young designer graduated in Product Design at the Pordenone university campus of ISIA Roma Design; and precisely his “Demeter. Grafting machine for fruit plants”, developed as degree thesis project with Professor Massimiliano Datti as speaker, achieved what can be considered a highly coveted achievement Design Oscar for a young creative person: the Targa Giovani Award from the Compasso d’Orowhich the international jury of ADI Design assigned to three projects, including that of the student from Pordenone.

The awards ceremony took place a few days ago in the ADI Design Museum in Piazza Compasso d’Oro 1, in Milan, on the occasion of the XXVIII edition of the Awardin the presence of the authorities, the main universities and design academies, professional designers, industrialists and the entire supply chain of the design world.

The recognition is a source of great satisfaction and certifies the high quality standards of teaching ISIA, which, in addition to this Plaque, already boasts 280 other national awards and international. The Roman University Institute has been present in Pordenone, within the University Consortium, for over 13 years. The Demetra project is the eighth Youth Plaque awarded to the ISIA in Rome And the first from the Pordenone office and in the region Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The plaques, only 3 in this edition, are in fact awarded over the two-year period to those innovative projects who stood out in about a thousand candidate projects. “An important result for the ISIA methodology in design training, which in FVG he found the right mix between material and immaterial culture, creativity and innovatione” commented the professor Tommaso SalvatoriDirector of ISIA Roma Design (Rome and Pordenone offices).

“It is a great result – commented the professor Marco Ripiccinicoordinator of ISIA Roma Design Competitions and Awards – for our young designer Andrea Ceschin and for professor Massimiliano Datti, to whom I renew my compliments. But it is a reason of great pride for ISIA as a whole, because to achieve certain results, daily team work is fundamental.”

In addition to the 3 plaques 5 certificates were awardedall included in the catalogue, for projects selected in the ADI Index, the prestigious publication that annually certifies the best production in design.

The final event of Pordenone Design Week will be on 26 June.

At the end of the Pordenone Design Week 2024 is scheduled Wednesday 26 June one of the most important moments of this XXIII edition: the Final conference which will be held at 5.30 pm in the Degan Room of the Pordenone Civic Library.

Opportunity to meeting, exchange and visibility for all PDW participants, the Conference is above all the official moment of presentation of the results of the workshops, which were held during the week of intensive workshops during which ISIA students worked on some specific company cases. At the end the award ceremony for participating companies at PDW24 and the call for Pordenone Design Week 2025 will be launched.
