The Val Maremola Energy Cooperative has the ambition to transform the Val Maremola area into a model of energy sustainability, aiming to create both a series of educational initiatives on energy sustainability and build a network of collaborations with local authorities, businesses, suppliers and citizens , with the aim of offering support services for energy efficiency and energy requalification projects.

The Renewable Energy Community is an entity that produces and shares renewable energy, independently generating and managing clean energy, reducing CO2 emissions and energy waste: it is an autonomous legal entity in which people and organizations can participate as members – both private and public – who decide to collaborate in the production and shared consumption of energy from renewable sources. Energy communities offer a unique opportunity to share unused energy among participants, ensuring greater efficiency and optimization of energy resources. Furthermore, the possibility of selling excess energy to the traditional distribution network allows you to contribute to the production of renewable energy on a larger scale, promoting the transition towards a sustainable energy system.

The Energy Cooperative of the Val Maremola Community will focus mainly on photovoltaic systems, with the long-term goal of also integrating wind and hydroelectric technologies. This strategy aims to make the most of available renewable resources, promoting technological innovation in the energy sector.

The management of the Energy Cooperative’s plants will be divided into two main categories; plants financed directly by private individuals and businesses within the territory (commonly called “prosumer”) and plants owned by the cooperative, financed through crowdfunding.

Through the Val Maremola Community, every citizen will be able to obtain the benefits of the CER by choosing the method of involvement most in line with their needs.

By participating as prosumer, the citizens of Val Maremola will have the opportunity to create their own photovoltaic system on their surfaces and obtain financial benefits from the self-consumption of the energy produced and from the sale of excess energy. The cooperative will support them throughout the implementation process and, in exchange for an annual management fee, will take care of making the most of the energy produced and shared, paying the prosumers the share that corresponds to them.

By participating as consumers, the citizens of Val Maremola will have the opportunity to use the clean, zero-mile energy produced by CER and reduce their monthly bills without making any type of initial investment. In exchange for a minimum annual administration fee, the cooperative will monitor consumption and valorise the energy used during the production phases of the CER, paying consumer members the share of incentives that corresponds to them.

By participating as surface concessionaires, the citizens of the Maremola valley will have the possibility of leasing their surfaces to the CER itself, receiving in exchange a fixed monthly contribution. The cooperative will install the production plants and manage the energy produced within the CER, ensuring the surface concessionaires a constant economic return for the following 25 years.

Finally, participating as investors, citizens who care about the territory will have the opportunity to finance the creation of the plants, receiving financial benefits from the return of interest on the investment. The cooperative will be responsible for using the financing to create the production plants and manage the energy produced, ensuring investors a constant annual economic return.
