“Tales of the valleys. Traditions, innovation, sustainability”. This is the title of the meeting that the University of Udine will hold on Wednesday 26 June, at 6pm, in the Naturalistic Museum and Venetian Sawmill, in Aplis (2/c) in Ovaro, in collaboration with the Municipality. The event is part of the activities of the master’s degree “Innovation of mountain agro-silvo-pastoral systems. Businesses and territories” activated by the Friulian University. They will speak: Giuseppe Ragognajournalist, former deputy director of “Messaggero Veneto”, and author of “Friuli, stories of mountain rebirth”; Orietta Gressaniof Pure Bioapiculture (Lauco); Giovanni Donadaof the Mulino Baus (Ovaro); Elisa Cimolaiof the Agriturismo Km 0 (Lauco).

“The event – ​​explains the director of the master, Ivana Bassi – is part of the residential week organized in the tourist-environmental complex of Aplis di Ovaro in collaboration with the Cramars cooperative of Tolmezzo. The complex was born from the idea of ​​recovering the buildings connected to the old sawmill. The entire complex is owned by the Carnic Forest Consortium, partner of the master. During this period, lessons, study visits to some entrepreneurial realities in Carnia, excursions and laboratory activities are scheduled”.

The training initiative is supported by the six mountain communities of the region: Friulian Dolomites, Cavallo and Cansiglio; Eastern Friulian Prealps; Carnia; Canal del Ferro and Valcanale; Gemonese; Natisone and Torre. Furthermore, from the Consortium of the municipalities of the mountain catchment basin (Bim) Tagliamento, Carnia Industrial Park, PrimaCassa Credito Cooperativo FVG, Confcooperative and Legacoop del Friuli Venezia Giulia. The network of collaborators is also vast and includes the Montagna Leader, Euroleader, Open Leader and Torre Natisone Gals, the two regional parks of the Friulian Dolomites and the Julian Prealps, the Carnic Forests and Wood Services Consortium, the Permanent Secretariat of the Alpine Convention and Cipra, the Comelico Dolomiti Foundation, the Arc Alpin Club and Cai, headquarters and delegation of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
