Three cars set on fire yesterday night, Sunday 23 June 2024, in the province of Treviso: two vehicles destroyed by flames in Cimadolmo and one in Vittorio Veneto. Two arson attacks, of which in one case the perpetrator has been identified, while for the other the investigations by the military personnel are still underway.
Cimadolmo, an 81-year-old entrepreneur sets fire to the cars of a former partner
Revenge for previous work disagreements. This would have been the motivation behind thearson broke out around 2 am on Sunday 2 June 2024 in a vehicle shelter in via Roma a Cimadolmo.
A fire that has destroyed completely two cars, a Kia Sportage and a Skoda Karoqthen also extending to the appurtenances and external walls of thehome of a 79 year old. The fire brigade teams from Conegliano and Treviso intervened immediately on site and prevented a generalized expansion of the flames.
The Carabinieri of the San Polo di Piave station, however, were entrusted with the investigations to discover the origin of the fire. The military, within a few hours, managed to identify the person responsible: it is an 81-year-old entrepreneur from Cimadolmoreported for damage.
As reconstructed by the Carabinieri, the 81-year-old would have acted due to previous differences between partners relating to the management of a company located abroad. This, therefore, would have been the reason that pushed him to set the two cars on fire. The damages, as reported by the military personnel, are being quantified.
A fire also in Vittorio Veneto
Also last night, Sunday 23 June 2024, a second fire involved a car in Vittorio Veneto.
Unlike what happened in Cimadolmo, in this case investigations by the Carabinieri are still underway to clarify the dynamics of the facts. On this occasion, however, A Fiat Punto owned by a 59-year-old caught fire who lives in via Piazzoni.
The flames completely destroyed the vehicle and were put out by the timely intervention of the firefighters who prevented the fire from spreading.
In order to understand the nature of the fire, even in this case there is doubt that it was a malicious event, it will be essential to view the images of the video surveillance cameras in the area.
The Carabinieri, regarding the two car fires which occurred a few hours apart in the Treviso area, exclude the possibility that there may be a connection.
