An amazing Guido Migliozzi wins the KLM Open 2024, a DP World Tour tournament, in the playoff and is approaching the 81st Italian Open (27-30 June) in the best possible way. The blue player precedes the Swede Marcus Kinholt and the Englishman Joe Dean in the play-off holes after a score of 273 (-11). At The International in Badhoevedorp, near Amsterdam, in the last round Migliozzi allowed himself a birdie on the 2nd and 5th, but ran into two bogeys on the 9th and 10th. Then a birdie on the par 3 of the 11th and two more bogeys. The blue, however, shows off his pride and manages to fix things in two of the last three holes, giving himself the three-way duel. On the first hole of the playoff the three golfers do not miss the birdie putt. We move forward and the first mistake of the three-way match is from Dean who only finds the high rough from the tee. Kinhult ends up in the water even worse. Migliozzi, on the other hand, is precise: he finds the perfect line on the fairway, then doesn’t take risks. The ones that Dean takes instead, which he forces and lands near the hole, just like Kinhult. For them there is par. It’s not enough, because Migliozzi scores the winning birdie at the end of the match “a great battle”as the Italian (qualified for the Paris Olympics) defines it, enjoying his fourth victory on the DP World Tour.

And there is a lot of Italy in addition to the 27-year-old from Vicenza in the top ranks of the Dutch tournament. A great Andrea Pavan he shares fourth place with Rasmus Hojgaard with a score of 274 (-10). The blue had opened his match with a first round on -3. Two double bogeys instead spoiled a second round with six birdies, while on the moving day he closed on par. An excellent -6 in the final round opens up fourth place to the 35-year-old, who confirms the signs of growth. After a great start which saw him take the lead, Matteo Manassero instead he is satisfied with seventh position with 276 (-8). And in tenth position it also stands out Filippo Celli, with 277 (-7). In the group in 29th place there is Edoardo Molinariwho closed with a score of 282 (-3) after a last lap to forget (+5).
