Enrico Vitale, who was seriously injured in an accident last June 12, died in the Intensive Care Unit of the Cardarelli Hospital.

After nine days of hospitalization at the Antonio Cardarelli hospital in Naples, where he arrived in very serious conditions, he passed away in the Intensive Care Unit. The injuries sustained in the accident were too serious: in the end his body couldn’t handle it and after nine days of agony he gave up. The impact occurred on Corso Secondigliano, while he was on a scooter with a friend: the impact would have occurred with another scooter driven by a 41-year-old Neapolitan.
The collision would have caused the young man to lose control of the vehicle, which ended up against a parked car and then landed on the asphalt. Of the three involved in the accident, only Enrico had suffered serious trauma: emergency hospitalized for a serious head injury, he fought between life and death until the last few hours, when brain death was declared. The exact dynamics of the accident are still to be reconstructed: the vehicles have all been seized, while we are looking for any images from surveillance cameras present in the area that could help investigators reconstruct the accuracy of the facts. The testimonies of the friend and the other man involved in the accident may also be fundamental. Both did not suffer serious injuries in the impact, unlike the 21-year-old from Posillino who instead flew onto the asphalt, probably hitting his head. It is not clear whether he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident: the Municipal Police officers who intervened did not find any in the area.
