The curtain on the 2024 Aequilibrium Cup-Trofeo delle Regioni is ready to rise. Like every year, the long-awaited event returns which since 1982 has represented one of the most important events in Italian youth volleyball,
culmination event of sporting activity carried out at a territorial and regional level. This year the event will be hosted by Corigliano-Rossano in the province of Cosenza. The opening ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow at 7.00 pm with over 500 athletes who will parade through the streets of the Calabrian town to which the Italian spiker Daniele Lavia has also been invited, who took his first steps as a volleyball player right in the ranks of Corigliano.
Lazio starts with two teams, Under 15 women and Under 16 men, both of whom have the ambition of being protagonists. In particular, Simonetta Avalle’s women’s team, this year led from the bench by Daniela Proietti and Lorenzo De Marco, who climbed to the top step of the podium last year in Campobasso, has the potential to repeat the feat.
The men’s team, selected by Matteo Antonucci and Francesco Caminiti, after last year’s excellent fourth place in Molise, will attempt to attack the podium.
There will be ten facilities that will host the one hundred and fifty matches that will characterize this new edition of the Aequilibrium Cup-Trofeo delle Regioni 2024 from Monday 24th to Friday 28th June: the “Brillia” sports hall, the F. Calabrò hall, the high school campus, the Pala Events, the ITI – IPA – ITI “E. Majorana”, the IIS Green Falcone e Borsellino Gym (Via S. Cosma e Damiano, 20), the IIS Green Falcone e Borsellino Gym (Via G. di Vittorio, 1), the Sporting Club, the ITAS-ITC Gym and the IIL Palma.
Everything is therefore ready for the start of the event, which as is known, represents the arrival point of a much longer journey that started in recent months and which includes the Territories Trophies which were held in all the Italian regions. Corigliano-Rossano is therefore preparing to be the capital of Italian youth volleyball.
