TOLMEZZO – The colorful family picnics and the delicious aperitifs of gustoCarnia are back, an event promoted by Confcommercio Udine with the support of the Ud-Pn Chamber of Commerce and the collaboration of the Carnia Mountain Community. The calendar of events, scheduled from June to October, as usual, will combine the gastronomic tradition of the valleys with the modernity proposed by the participating restaurateurs. This year, thanks to the collaboration with the Carnic Museum of Popular Arts “Michele Gortani”, the splendid cultural places of Carnia will also be at the center of the project.
FAMILY PICNIC ON JUNE 29TH – The event that will kick off this new edition of gustoCarnia is the “Family Picnic” which on Saturday 29 June will be hosted in the large courtyard of the Gortani Museum of Tolmezzo (via della Vittoria 2), set up for the occasion (also available plaid for those who want to sit on the grass).
An event designed for the whole family, from grandparents to children; from parents to children. We will start at 11.30 am sipping a refreshing aperitif in the garden, prepared by the “Il Gatto e la Volpe” cocktail bar in Tolmezzo. At 12, there will be a short guided tour of the Museum for older children. In the meantime, the little ones can have fun taking part in the ‘Herbs, flowers and prints’ educational workshop with natural or recycled elements. The picnic will begin at 1pm. Thanks to Gardel (Arta Terme), Riglarhaus (Sauris), Al Belvedere (Tolmezzo), Al Sole (Forni Avoltri) and Daniele Cortiula’s Cogo Catering (Tolmezzo) it will be possible to enjoy delicious dishes with the products of the territory. Not a simple “basket”, but a large menu organized in “tasting islands”. In addition to herbs (the common thread of all events in the Museum), seasonal vegetables and fruit will also be present. The menu will be varied and tasty. It will be possible to try the classic herb omelette, but also the delicious mini trout burger, mayonnaise with red peppers and raspberries; there will be the purcit joke with broad bean cream and khreis, and also “carnipece” courgettes and scented geranium. There will also be appetizing fruit-based dishes, local appetizers and delicious desserts. The day will end with another moment dedicated to children who, from 2.30 pm, will be able to experience “The games of the past”. To participate in the event it is necessary to book through the platform EventBrite. The ticket costs 43 euros for adults, 20 euros for children and young people aged 3 to 15, while there is no fee for children under 3 years of age. In case of rain the event will be moved inside the Museum to transform into an unusual picnic spread across the rooms of the Museum.
EVENTS UNTIL OCTOBER – The events will then continue until autumn. On July 18th, from 6.30pm to 9pm, the Gortani Museum will host the aperitif “Herbs, milk and mountain cheeses”. Herbs will also be the protagonists of the third aperitif, the one scheduled for August 8th (same location and time): “Herbs, between new and ancient”. On September 7th the “Family Picnic” will return and will be welcomed by the Verzegnis Art Park. Finally, gustoCarnia will propose, on 11 October, a new aperitif dedicated to “Il Filo dei Sapori”.
