The new municipal council of Calasetta took office yesterday evening, elected on 8 and 9 June 2024. The session was opened, in a packed council chamber, by the examination of the conditions of candidacy, eligibility and compatibility of the directly elected mayor and of the 12 city councilors.
Immediately afterwards. Mayor Antonello Puggioni took the oath, one of the moments in which he showed great emotion. when he was called to wear the tricolor sash, an operation in which Silvano Farris, one of the two unelected mayoral candidates, came to his aid.
Antonello Puggioni then communicated the names of the members of the council and the vice mayor. The deputy mayor is Giuseppe Alvaro Cincotti, the other three councilors are Giuseppe D’Antonio, Graziano Castelli and Maria Laura Corona.
The other majority councilors received delegations of support to their fellow councilors.
The installation session continued and ended with the presentation of the programmatic mandate lines and the appointment of the municipal electoral commission.
The new municipal council of Calasetta elected with the mayor Antonello Puggioni is made up of 8 majority councilors elected from the “Rinascita Calasetta” list and 4 from the minority: 3 elected from the “Gianca Cadesedda” list which supported the mayoral candidate Silvano Farris and 1 from the list “Calasetta Futura”, the unelected mayoral candidate Agostino Armeni.
The 8 majority councilors of the “Rinascita Calasettana” list are the following: Giuseppe Alvaro Cincotti 109 preferences, Fabrizio Schirru 103, Luigi Biggio 100, Giuseppe D’Antonio 80, Gianluca Murgioni 75, Graziano Castelli 69, Maria Laura Corona 67, Luciano Biggio 56. First of the non-elected: Maurizio D’Antonio 53.
The 3 minority councilors from the “Gianca Cadesedda” list: Silvano Farris, unelected mayoral candidate, Roberto Lusci 83, Dafne Mercenaro 83. First of the unelected: Salvatore Ierna 82.
The councilor elected from the “Calasetta Futura” list: Agostino Armeni, unelected mayoral candidate. First of the non-elected: Angelo Serrenti 73 preferences.
