A strange case has begun to create some embarrassment at the University of Urbino. Where for a few days the rumor has been circulating of a researcher who has received a salary for 21 years, but has not published any research and has not been to his laboratory for a very long time. A situation which the rector of the University of Urbino Giorgio Calcagnini will now be called upon to clarify. The case refers to a teacher who in 1997 apparently won a regular competition and entered the university as a researcher, so far so good, unfortunately from an initial analysis it appears that the man has no longer visited his laboratory since 2003 (Science researcher applied), until today he would not have conducted any analysis or published any document on the outcome of his research, but in all these years he would have received a monthly salary calculated at a figure between 2,500 – 3,000 euros.

The rector was clear on the issue, he announced that he will ask for a note on the work carried out by the teacher from the department to which he belongs and if the conditions actually exist the dismissal will be considered. From here a problem of a technical and legal nature is also raised, which would not only concern the University of Urbini, but the classification of the figure of the researcher who is not required to be physically present, which instead happens for teachers who have to carry out lessons . It will now be necessary to evaluate the work carried out over 21 years by the researcher for the University.
