ACEA Waidy® Management System received the Award Compasso d’Oro, born in 1954 and now in its 28th edition which aims to enhance the idea of quality of Made in Italy projects and design. WMS, the technological platform for the sustainable management of the water cycle, created by ACEA in collaboration with NTT DATA Italywas awarded for “the reduction of waste of an increasingly precious resource, pursued through the most advanced technologies and the responsible involvement of citizens. A virtuous practice of building a responsible community carried out by a public service manager”.
The recognition, one of the most prestigious nationally and internationally in the field of design, is the result of a three-phase process: after the inclusion of the best solutions last November, in the ADI Design Index, the selection of products and services created by the Association for Industrial Design (ADI) to highlight the best of Italian design, the evaluation phase began by specialists in the individual sectors with a process that involved an observatory of around 150 experts, leading up to the presentation – which took place yesterday evening – of the results in front of an international jury. ACEA Waidy® Management System, which was included in the index in the “Service Design” category, had also obtained the Design Excellence Award in Lazioawarded to companies and designers published in the index operating in the region.
With design curated by Tangity, NTT DATA’s design studio, ACEA Waidy® Management System is a scalable, secure and adaptable cloud solution for the predictive maintenance of the integrated water network, with the aim of offering an advanced tool to support the management of the integrated water cycle and to protect the water resource. In the management of the infrastructures of the Acea Group companies, it has made it possible to reduce losses, in a single district, by up to 35% and the failure rate by up to 25%.
