MESTRE – A life cut short at exactly twenty years old, just one day before his death. A tragic fate that of Shakira Galli, died in the terrible crash on the A4 while she was aboard the Fiat Panda driven by her husbandLeonardo Tibasco, 22 years old.
STUDIES
A husband married only a few months earlier, after a love that lasted years, which began when the two were still at school. Shakira had dated the Algarotti linguistic institute for tourism of Venice, graduating brilliantly, and was currently enrolled in the Faculty of Law In Padova. The two were on the A4 returning from Verona, after a day spent together to celebrate Shakira’s birthday, on June 18th. They lived together in Mestre, in an apartment in Corso del Popolo. Leonardo Tibasco, only two years older than his wife, had recently passed the exam to become a gondoliera profession that for years has no longer been reserved only for the children of gondoliers.
THE FAMILY
A great satisfaction for such a young boy, also because the work in Venice would have brought him even closer to his Shakira, who instead daughter and granddaughter of gondoliers it was: his father, Swan Galli, in addition to managing a gym in via Mestrina, is also a gondolier together with his brother Seriano. Shakira was also passionate about the gym and she often went to her father’s gym, a personal trainer who mainly trains boxers. Shakira was the eldest of three siblings, the mother has Dominican origins and passed on to her a great passion for music, as well as the characteristic name of her country of origin. Upon hearing the news of the accident, the young woman’s father and mother, who are currently separated, rushed to Mestre to recognize their daughter. A painful and heartbreaking task, which left them deeply disturbed and shocked; just as Leonardo, who emerged unharmed from the car after the crash, is in shock. The young man was transported to Dolo hospital for checks but was discharged after a few hours. He has no worrying injuries, but is devastated by the loss of his wife, whom he married only a few months earlier. Both Shakira’s family and her husband are closed in the utmost secrecy and do not want to speak in such a difficult moment. «We are just asking for a little privacy in a painful moment, which I would not wish anyone to experience – reports the young woman’s father -. Honestly, as a family we don’t feel the need to speak to the press while we are grieving.”
THE FRIENDS
A friend of Shakira’s, who prefers to remain anonymous, is keen to dedicate an affectionate thought to a girl taken from life too soon. «Shakira turned 20 on June 18th – she says – She was very good, a good girl, with her head on her shoulders, she was just a little away from finally getting her driving licence. She attended the Faculty of Law in Padua and was a good student. She was a “puppy”, she liked Hello Kitty a lot, she was her favorite character. She liked music and the gym, but above all she loved Leonardo so much. They got married just a few months ago. He was happy to have passed the state exam and to start working as a gondolier. They were happy together, they talked about wanting a child soon. She was a star who went out too soon. Now Leonardo is devastated by pain, he cannot find peace.” On social media, another friend of Shakira’s, Alexia, writes: «What was between us is explainable, we were there for each other and the good was immense. You who were and will forever be so beautiful and sunny even above the clouds… Fly as high as you can, hello beautiful angel I will love you forever my Shaki.”
