An event of great social importance organized by the Criminal Chamber of Varese Giuseppe Lozito-Lucio Paliaga will be held on Thursday 20 June 2024, from 2.30 pm to 6.00 pm, in the Sala Risorgimento of Villa Mirabello. The conference, entitled “Stop suicides in prison: there is no more time”, focuses on the need to urgent interventions and future planning to make prison a more humane and resocializing place.
The event intends to address the dramatic problem of suicides in prison, considered a manifestation of the dehumanization of prison conditions andintolerable intramural mental suffering. In light of the rulings of the Constitutional Court and the debate started by the UCPI, it is aimed at all legal, social and clinical support operators and political actors, with the aim of amplifying social awareness and providing concrete answers for a more human.

The event is free but registration is required by 17 June 2024 via email to [email protected], until the 60 available places are filled. Afterwards, an aperitif will be offered at the “Al Cedro” bar (Villa Mirabello), for which confirmation is requested at the time of registration.
