Internal divisions
The settlement, set up with Canadian tents And beach umbrellashas lasted for about a fortnight with inevitable impact on decorum. Residents complain the use of stoves And gas cylinderspotentially dangerous, by the occupants and the accumulation of smelly waste. So far, the toleranceof the institutions and of the police, convinced that the occupiers would sooner or later give up: after the initial meeting with the housing councilor, Tobia Zeviand the subsequent conversation with the colleague from the Registry, Andrea Catarci, no one offered them immediate solutions outside the process required by law. In the meantime, media interest has also waned the home front would no longer be so compact: on the contrary, divisions emerged between the leaders of the protest and the most vulnerable, around ten people who find themselves in conditions of great social precariousness, who did not obtain the answers they had hoped for. For tame the situationthe department offered them the opportunity to use the internal toilets, just as the children were left free to play football in the square.
The national mobilization against the Security Decree

This, at the moment, is the hope to avoid the eviction which could ignite other sources of protest, in particular on the front of evictions which however – as underlined by the department – “do not depend on us”.
