Catania, Pelligra: «We must all learn English. If one day we go to the Champions League…”

The president of Catania Rosario Pelligra took part in the press conference to present the new Catania coach Domenico Toscano at the “Massimino”.

Below are his words:

«I am returning to Catania, to the home of our club, we are ready for the start of a new season, in the context of an extremely important project for me. We are here to lay the foundations for the season that is about to begin and I would like to particularly thank Vincenzo Grella for the sacrifices made in general, also considering all the changes made within the staff and our personnel. We absolutely want to be sure that we bring experienced people with a positive approach to Catania, which is fundamental for us. The work carried out by Grella was extremely important, traveling far and wide across Italy in order to recruit the right staff. I am very happy with his work. This is a club that both Grella and I love deeply. I welcome the club to Toscano who becomes part of the Catania family. We are working hard to ensure that the club reaches a very high level and the city can be proud, we want to lay the foundations right from the youth team. I would like to say a few words about Lodi, who was a fantastic player. At the end of the 2022/23 season we asked him to retire from playing football because we thought he could be an added value for the team. He worked a lot and we supported him in his growth in a new role. We are proud of his growth and look forward to continuing alongside him. We are a company constantly looking for talent. I’m not necessarily referring to age, but to the quality and added value that whoever is brought in can guarantee, helping the club with capable people who I also have to delegate, like those I’ve had by my side so far. Can I improve my knowledge of the Italian language? We all have to learn English. If one day we go to the Champions League, this is important (smiles, ed.). Just as I have to learn to speak Italian correctly, everyone should do the same with English.”
