What happened

The man was on the Gran Paradiso with a climbing partner: together they had spent the night at Chabod refuge. Having left and arrived at the top of the North Face, to go towards the summit the two had to descend for a short distance: precisely in this phase, where one normally rappels with double ropes, the accident occurred. Two hypotheses: the breaking of an anchor or that the victim, in some way, slipped off the ropes themselves. The body, recovered, was taken to Courmayeur cemeteryin the mortuary awaiting the arrival of the victim’s family.
