The third appointment of the “Meeting with the Author” initiative took place on Saturday 15 June, promoted and organized by the Pro Loco Placanica, a usual event which now arouses more and more interest and participation.
The guest of this third meeting, in the splendid setting of the Dominican Convent, is Rosario Rocca, author of “the time of the almond tree”, published in 2020. A novel which, through the settings, retraces the experience of the protagonist. A story to be read in one go, in which everyone will be able to recognize themselves in one of the protagonists. Rocca, primary school teacher and sociologist, mayor of his town (Benestare) for ten years and, at the same time, President of the Association of Municipalities of Locride, graduated in Communication Sciences and Sociology with top marks, and was also an author of different cultural rubrics. An experience that can be clearly read in his writings, in which the people, the “last”, the stories of common life, emerge and are masterfully exalted.
He spoke with the author Chiara Aiello, who once again was able to capture profound reflections and highlight hidden facets.
Commendable initiatives full of thoughtful ideas through which the Pro Loco Placanica intends to give space to the cultured and profound pen of local authors. The President of the Pro Loco, Nicola Raschellà, greeted the guest and those who attended, making an appointment for the next meeting with culture, considering these events necessary for the growth of the territory
