A bronze medal in the Olympic C2 500 race, the title of European champions in the thousand meters and a fourth place in the 200. The Piedmontese Carlo Tacchini and Gabriele Casadei were the absolute protagonists at the European speed canoe championships, which closed yesterday on the basin Hungarian from Szeged. Immediately behind the Azzurri who placed just three hundredths ahead of the Hungarians Balazs Adolf and Jonathan Haidu. «As a route it wasn’t what we had in mind, but it still came out as a beautiful race, as always the 500 final is a thriller, you can get off or on the podium for a trifle. In Hungary there were two other Piedmontese, the Cusian Agata Fantini (Navy) who managed to qualify for the final of the K1 1,000, then finished in ninth place. Also competing in the kayak over 5000 meters is Marco Borgotti from Verbano from the Circolo Aniene, eighth. —
