Fazzino wins on his debut at Tento-Bondone
Extraordinary feat by Luigi Fazzino in the 73rd edition of the Trento-Bondonefourth appointment of Italian Superclimb Championship. After the excellent results obtained in yesterday afternoon’s official tests, which closed in the wake of his rival with a time of 9’22″84, the rider from Melilla managed to “tame” the Florentine champion Simone Faggioli in the official heats this afternoon, effectively obtaining the first overall victory of his career in a race valid for the “Tricolore” series.
Fazzino, at the wheel of the now trusted Osella PA30/3000, set the pace in the only climb of the day in 9’16″80. An incredible time considering that the Sicilian, until yesterday, had never tackled the 17.3 km that he did Trent they go up to Vason with a gradient of 8.88% and a total height difference of 1,350 metres. The reigning Italian Champion, however, with his Nova Proto NP01/3000 stopped just 63 thousandths (9’17″43) from the “level” set by the winner, also due to a touch halfway through the course which due to his this same admission did not guarantee him the confidence necessary to obtain maximum performance from the car. In any case, as always happens in races, whoever wins is always right and the Florentine driver himself, in the classic post-race declarations, did not spare himself in compliments to his rival.

For Fazzino this is an almost epochal result, confirming a start to the season that is seeing him constantly battling for the top positions in the overall ranking, also thanks to an immediate feeling with the Osella flagship. Behind the Fazzino-Faggioli duo was the rider from Potenza Achille Lombardi on Osella PA214C/2000, while the Trentino driver positioned himself behind him Diego Degasperi (Regulation M20/3000) and the Comisan area Samuele Cassibbagood at obtaining important points for the “Tricolore” ranking reserved for the 2000. Cassibba jr, we remember, like Fazzino had never tackled the Trentino race route, defined by everyone as the University of the Climb.
The results in the groups
He was certainly another protagonist of the race Sunday in Trento Andrea Di Caro, also in action for the first time on Monte Bondone. The rider from Nisse, fast since yesterday’s tests, put together a performance of absolute caliber at the wheel of his NP03 Aprilia, guaranteeing himself the record-breaking lead among 1600 cars. As for the other groups and classes, the Trapani Isidoro Alastra on Mini Cooper JCW he obtained third place among the Racing Start Plus and second among the TB1600, while in the same group the Palermo driver Filippo Spinnato (Peugeot 106 Rallye) concluded this weekend in Trentino with ninth overall and first in the 1400 class. The Avolese native Giuseppe Caruso, in a Hyundai i30N, finished seventh in the TCR. Finally, 14th and 17th place among the Gran Turismos for the Favarse Rosario Parrrino (Porsche 992 GT3Cup) and the Palermo driver Matteo Adragna (Porsche 991 GT3 Cup)
