Yesterday afternoon, the “Mazza” hosted the charity event “In goal with the heart” named after Alfredo Corallini, the historic president of Acli San Luca who passed away a few months ago. The event, which enjoyed the institutional patronage of the Prefecture, the Province, the Municipality of Ferrara, the Chamber of Commerce of Ferrara and Ravenna and the CONI, was attended by representatives of the National Prefectures, former footballers of the province, the Contrade of Palio di Ferrara and the voluntary organization Associazione Giulia. The proceeds from the event will allow the purchase of eight defibrillators as part of the “Ferrara cardioprotected city” project, an initiative resulting from an agreement signed in recent months between the municipal administration and the Local Health Authority of Ferrara, which aims to install in Ferrara area 25 stations in which to place as many semi-automatic external defibrillators for public use. The event began at 4pm with a mini tournament in the “Pulcini” category with the teams of Spal, Pontelagoscuro, Dribbling and Acli San Luca. At 5pm there was a performance by the city’s Palio flag-wavers before the actual quadrangular event took place: in the evening Italy’s debut at the European Championships against Albania was screened on the giant screens of the “Mazza”. The event was the result of a months-long collaboration between some of the main city sports entities, above all Spal, Ferrara Basket and Palestra Ginnastica Ferrara. “It came naturally to us to dedicate the event to Alfredo Corallini – the words of the prefect Massimo Marchesiello -, who was a man of sport and did a lot for young people. The proceeds will be entirely donated to charity for the “Ferrara cardioprotected city” project , which our community sorely needs.”
