Marco Lisei, senator of the Brothers of Italy, the Regional elections for Emilia-Romagna are getting closer. At what point is the confrontation between the allies of the center-right coalition?
“The debate has not started yet, we have been busy with the European elections. Now we will meet with the allies and evaluate the candidate together. The centre-right is growing, we have gone from 35.85% of the 2022 elections to 40.61% of the elections for Brussels Fratelli d’Italia also goes from 25% to 28%, we have conquered new municipalities…We are very confident”.
Choice between civic and political, is there a preference?
“We will delve deeper into the electoral data to choose the best solution.”
Among the names in the field, for now, is that of Elena Ugolini, former undersecretary in the Monti government and principal of the Malpighi high school in Bologna. Has FdI given an indication?
“I read many names, but before the names comes unity of purpose with allies”
In the Democratic Party, the name of Michele de Pascale, mayor of Ravenna, is coming forward. A formidable opponent?
“He’s the one who asked for the money for the floods and has yet to spend it from the government.”
Instead Stefano Bonaccini is expected to resign as governor at the beginning of July. Then there will be a period of ordinary administration before the vote. Could this puzzle regarding his succession in the Democratic Party benefit you at the polls?
“Bonaccini is marginalized in the Democratic Party, he is only used as a figurine, an ordinary Salis. To survive politically he chose to abandon the Region and go to Europe. A behavior that does him no credit.”
From post-flood to healthcare management, what are the topics you will campaign on during the election campaign?
“The left is becoming more and more extremist, this is worrying for the nation, but above all it is worrying for a productive region like Emilia Romagna that cannot afford a left that chases ecological fanaticism and every three by two raises a fascist danger that does not exists. I think it would be a disaster.”
Do you think that the government’s results will also affect the regional vote?
“We with Giorgia Meloni have brought the record of employment, the stock markets are flying, wages are rising, the GDP is growing and Italy is once again central in the world as we are seeing in the G7. We want to bring these results to the Region. On healthcare who ‘has destroyed, that is, the Democratic Party, those who have cut thousands of beds and made staff flee would do better to keep quiet. We have invested more than anyone else, and now we will resolve the waiting lists.’
