He threatens his partner with a cleaver
He was arrested for aggravated stalking, threatening his partner with a cleaver. This is what happened late yesterday afternoon, Friday 14 June 2024 in Milan. The Carabinieri of the mobile radio unit are in action. The arrested person was a 45-year-old Italian. The report to 112 reported what was happening in a bar in Via Padova, where some passers-by had noticed that man, with that weapon, who was threatening his partner with death inside the place. The Carabinieri arrived within moments, blocking the 45-year-old and also finding him in possession of a box cutter hidden in his pocket. During the house search, the butcher’s cleaver (about 30 centimeters long) that he had used shortly before to threaten the woman, all weapons seized, were found.
Another violent partner caught
A few hours later the Carabinieri arrested a 23-year-old Italian man for the same crime. The military intervened in the house of the victim, a 36-year-old woman, in via Varesina, where the 23-year-old had shown up shortly before her and refused to leave despite numerous requests from his partner. The military learned of a long series of persecutory acts already committed by the young man – consisting of frequent stakeouts in the area of the woman’s home as well as obsessive messages to mend the relationship – and so they accompanied him to the barracks, where he was declared in state of arrest.
Caught for robbery
During the night, the Carabinieri then arrested a suspect in the crime of aggravated robbery against a 42-year-old Senegalese man, irregular and homeless. The patrol intervened in via Tadino where a 30-year-old Panamanian tourist had shortly before been robbed of his smartphone by the 42-year-old, who had violently yanked him and then fled. The military thus began the search, tracking down the 42-year-old in the nearby streets while he was trying to get rid of the stolen mobile phone by hiding it in a planter. The stolen property was recovered and given back to the victim.
