The toll is three dead and three injured fire broke out today, around 7pm, in a garage in Milan, in via Fra Galgario 8, Gambara area. The victims were inside an apartment on the third floor of the building affected by the fire. The 6-storey building was evacuated immediately, but not everyone made it.
The victims
The three victims of the fire that occurred this evening in Milan are a 67-year-old, his wife and the couple’s son. They are Silvano Tollardo, 67 years old, Carolina De Luca, 63, and Antonio Tollardo, 34. They were all found in their apartment on the third floor of the building, invaded by smoke and flames from a workshop on the floor Earth. According to an initial inspection by the medical examiner, they would have died from intoxication.
What happened
The dramatic fire that this afternoon in Milan caused three deaths and as many injuries was caused by flames starting from the workshop located at the base of the building affected by the fire, probably from a car being repaired. What immediately seemed to be the cause of the incident, in fact, the commercial activity on the ground floor of the building, located in via Anguissola, in the southern area of the city, appears to be confirmed by the first findings of the technical teams of the Fire Brigade. In fact, specialists from the NIA, the fire investigation unit of the Milan provincial command, are on site.
The investigations
The Milan prosecutor’s office will open a case for manslaughter, disaster and negligent fire for the fire that broke out in a garage around 6.30pm today in via Fra Galgario, in which three people died and four were injured. The owner of the workshop – as far as we know – will be entered in the register of suspects to guarantee him.
