We receive and publish the statement from the minority of Casorate Aperta, on the sentence pronounced by the mayor Dimitri Cassani in reference to the new mayor of Arsago Seprio Claudio Montagnoli. It should be noted that the note was sent before the subsequent statement in which Cassani formally apologized (despite saying he had been misrepresented)
We learn from local newspapers that the mayor of Casorate Sempione Cassani was the protagonist of a terrible and seriously offensive social media outlet against the newly elected Mayor of Arsago Claudio Montagnoli.
As a minority group we want to distance ourselves from such statements in very poor taste which show how for Cassani the vote is a sacred expression of the will of the voters only when they choose who they like. When this is not the case, he launches into considerations that simultaneously debase the Administrators and the citizens who elected them.
These are statements whose gravity increases due to the role held by the person from whom they come, since he represents not only himself, but all its citizens in the function of mayor pro tempore.
As such, he is required to show respect in communication and towards the choices of citizens, as he also recalled last 2 June during the delivery of the Constitution to the newly eighteen-year-olds of Casorata, with a speech in which he explained the value of democracy and the importance of the vote. As he is keen to reiterate on the occasion of his electoral successes.
We reiterate, as councilors but above all as citizens, our distancing and firm condemnation of Cassani’s ignoble words and our solidarity with the newly elected Mayor of Arsago Seprio Claudio Montagnoli, with whom we congratulate for the electoral success, wishing him to work with the commitment and serenity he has already shown over the years.
