Initiatives of notable interest, those planned within the 60th Pesaro International New Cinema Exhibition. We start, at 4.45pm on Friday 14 June at Cinema Experimental Theater of Pesarowith The elephantsa short film about the fire brigade by the director Antonio Maria Castaldocreated with the patronage of Marche Cultura Foundation – Marche Film Commission. The work, filmed in the municipalities of Jesi, Montecarotto and Poggio San Marcellois produced by Department of Fire Brigade, Public Rescue and Civil Defencefrom the Fire Brigade Central Management for the formation and of Regional Fire Brigade Directorate Marche.

An important institutional momentevent which will see, among others, the presence of the head of the National Fire Brigade Carlo Dall’Oppio. In the short film, the firefighters operate in the scenario of a road accident, seen from the eyes of the rescuer, an original point of view, from which emerge bonds within the team, empathy with the victim, professionalism and humanity that contribute to a positive conclusion a rescue. The title refers to elephants’ ability to solve problems together. The director Castaldo, a firefighter in his working life, puts a particular sensitivity at the service of the camera, like other actors such as Gianluca Grazini, Marco Aceti, Simona Pognant and Daniele Costantini, in addition to the actors Totò Onnis and Antonio Rocco .


Following, at 6.00 pm, the Cinema Teatro Sperimentale of Pesaro will host the documentary film for the first time The theater island. It is the story of Theater Festival, work produced by Marche Teatro_Teatro of Significant Interest in Culture and Theater, which benefited from the funds provided with the Cinema Call to support 2022/23 audiovisual productions, promoted by the Marche Region and the Marche Film Commission – Marche Cultura Foundation. Production, story and screenplay are by Velia Papa, directed by Eleonora Diana and Velia Papa. The documentary traces the 45 years of Inteatro Festival, through interviews, archive footage, images and backstage of the protagonists who took part in the event and marked the history of contemporary theater and dance. A fascinating story of how a small village in the Marche hinterland, Polverigi, was able to transform itself into an international theater capital.
