A crash during the night on the ring road, between a tanker and a car. The driver of the heavy vehicle, Enrico Colapicchioni, 54 years old, who was traveling along the internal roadway, in the direction of Via Aurelia, died. The accident occurred at 2.50 am near the Via della Pisana junction. The traffic police are investigating the causes of the impact between the two vehicles that were proceeding in the same direction. The vehicles have been seized, while investigators await the results of the autopsy. The 21-year-old boy driving the car was seriously injured and hospitalized under red code. Since the beginning of the year there have already been 69 road victims in Rome and its province, but in the last year and a half there have been around twenty deaths on the Raccordo alone, fifteen in 2023. In June there were six deaths.
Boy subjected to alcohol and drug tests
The GRA is once again confirmed as the most dangerous road in Rome and one of the most at risk in Italy. A motorway, because the A/90 is considered such, traveled every day by around 160 thousand vehicles on the almost 70-30 kilometer ring. After the accident the alarm was raised by other motorists. In addition to the traffic police, the firefighters rushed to the scene and extracted the vehicle the victim from the cockpit of the heavy vehicle and the injured boy to the Ares 118 doctors who transported him by ambulance to the Sant’Eugenio hospital. The roadway remained closed to traffic for a few hours to allow the vehicles to be removed. It cannot be ruled out that video surveillance footage of that stretch of the Raccordo will be acquired to reconstruct the dynamics of the crash. The injured 21-year-old underwent an alcohol and drug test as usual.
Collision between two motorbikes: very serious for a judge of the Court of Appeal
A few hours earlier in via della Giustiniana there had been a head-on collision between two motorbikes which was instead investigated by the traffic police: the judge of the Court of Appeal Stefano Venturini, 62 years old, was seriously injured. in prognosis reserved for Sant’Andrea.
