The design of the “Due Mari” takes shape amidst protests

Technicians at work in the northern area of the municipality, then the checks move to Colle Plinio

Surveys for the design of the Due Mari route and related works towards the Guinza tunnel and connection to the E45 continue between the municipalities of Città di Castello and San Giustino.

The current route hypothesis would connect to the E45 at the Selci-Lama exit, skirt the town north of Selci-Lama, then turn south at Colle Plinio and pierce the hill in the Panicale area to enter the Vallurbana valley from there and rejoin the Guinza through a further tunnel.

To give shape to this project, core drilling began to probe the state of the ground at a depth of over 50 meters in preparation for the construction of a connecting tunnel.
The technicians will then move to the neighboring municipality of San Giustino where some land in the Colle Plinio area is also affected by the itinerary.

But in the face of this project in a state of progress, there is no shortage of notes of protest and objection from the Valle del Lama committee, which represents the residents and those who are concerned about the future of the area, which in a note sent to the municipal administrations and interested bodies, expresses a strong concern for the environmental impact of the work and for the safety conditions during the works.
