The Moda Movie Festival, in its 28th edition, closes with yet another success. Emotions, smiles and hugs as always crowned the announcement of the podium of the winners of Moda Movie 2024, at the conclusion of theFashion Event which took place on Tuesday evening, 11 June, at the Garden cinema theater in Rende.
First step for Christian Spinelli, from Montepaone Lido (Cz), which presented two spectacular and sculptural outfits made with sustainable fabrics; in second place Carmelo Natale Mazzucafrom Cosenza residing in Brescia, with two male proposals based on dualism, followed by an ex-aequo between Elisa Sciammarellaof San Benedetto Ullano (Cs), e Fabiola Pia Di Masi, by Laureana di Borrello (Rc): asymmetric lines and ancient weaves for Elisa, audacity and sophistication for Fabiola Pia, characterized their creations and convinced the jury present in the room. An all-Calabrian podium which demonstrates how the fashion sector is also making space in our region. International, however, was the preference of the Junior jury, which chose the style of Yuli Cristina Mendoza Zambranofrom Ecuador, of traditional inspiration but with particular attention to sustainability, like all the proposals of the finalists of the contest for fashion designers, this year being based on the theme “Green Future. Environment, cultural heritage, circular economy”.
Waiting for the designer’s fashion show Michele Miglionico, special guest of this 28th edition, protagonist of a collection in balance between total black and Renaissance colors based on creativity and high tailoring: a luxurious and refined style, rigorous but not minimal, sober and aristocratic designed for a cosmopolitan woman. Moda Movie 2024’s homage to him was given to him by the director of Rai Calabria Massimo Fedele.
In the evening conducted with pace and professionalism by Nino Graziano Luca And Valeria Oppenheimerhistoric friends of Moda Movie, also the delivery of awards to personalities who have distinguished themselves in their fields of work, such as journalists Eva Crosettawhich received the Special Award from the hands of the editor-in-chief of Rai Calabria Riccardo Giacoia, ed Annalaura Saturdaywho collected the 2024 Press Award presented to her by Antonietta Cozza, councilor of the municipality of Cosenza.
Il Gusto del Sud Award to the restaurant Lorenzo Fortuna Pizza Chef, collected by the owner and delivered to him by Monica Perripresident of the Unicef committee of Cosenza.
A collaboration was born precisely with Unicef which saw the sharing of the association “Gli altri essere noi”, led by Adriana De Luca, and the stylists Giuseppe Cupelli And Rosa Allocca which led to the creation of the Pigotte designed by Moda Movie dressed with fabrics from the DNL De Negri company. A solidarity initiative, as in the tradition of the Festival, in favor of all children who experience disadvantaged situations in the world.
Awards ceremonies and catwalks were enriched by musical moments by the αέρας Flute Quartet, made up of students from the Cosenza Conservatory who were given, as thanks to Maestro Francesco Perri, a sculpture created by the councilor Alessandra Bresciani. Also opening is the screening of the video “La Sila, natura e Bellezza” by Pasquale Guzzo.
Like every year, the Fashion Event evening was preceded byCinema event, on 10 June at the Palacultura in Rende, during which the awards linked to the competition for young directors were awarded. First prize awarded to the couple Giorgia Fantozzi – Maurizio Manco for the short film entitled “Contaminati”. Following the work of the Turin native Ruben De March “The ibexes of Robinet”; in third place the video of Varese Martina Seven “Picnic on the grass”.
Director Luca Brignoneauthor of over thirty cinema, theater and television directions including “Rocco Schiavone”, “Il Paradiso delle Signore”, “Cuori” and “Don Matteo 13”, received the Cinema 2024 award. Guests of the event also included ‘actress Jennifer Mischiatithe designer and model maker Flavia Amatothe writer and screenwriter Dora Albanesedirector Gianfranco Confessorethe producer Pasquale Arnonethe editor Mirco Da Lio and the digital media expert Fabio Ciciotti.
A particularly significant moment of the evening hosted by Valeria Oppenheimer was that of the national premiere of “Re-Tour”a short film which, drawing inspiration from a previous film production by Creazione e Immagine from 2002, connects VesteMMundi, the Friulian ethical fashion project Roberto Scappaticciowith the fashion and artistic perfumery of Daphnè Sanremo di Barbara Borsotto. The French director and photographer also collaborated in the creation Catherine Filliol And Pasquale Filippelli, founder and president of the Textile Studies and Research Center. The short film bears the signature of Federica Surace (directed), Stefania Vaghi (screenplay) e Francesco Perri (music).
Even the Evento Cinema evening was able to enjoy the musical interludes curated by the students of the “Giacomantonio” Conservatory of Cosenza, this time by the Kalopsia Quartet, as well as the inauguration of the exhibition “The Villages of Calabria”, at the MAM in Corso Telesio from 10 to 24 June, the musicians of the Phoenix quartet performed.
The exhibition, linked to the competition of the same name, curated by Cecilia Renzelli, brings together paintings and sculptures by Silvio Vigliaturo and works by Mimmo Legato, together with the pictorial and photographic works of the participants in the competition organized by the Creazione e Immagine association .
The artistic director of Moda Movie is satisfied Sante Orrico for the excellent success of a consolidated and content-rich event, which in this edition had the privilege of being welcomed in the Campidoglio on May 27th for the national press conference. Pride and satisfaction were expressed by the patron for having contributed once again to the growth of many talented young people, giving them opportunities for discussion and training, thanks to the thematic workshops which the finalists were able to attend, and job opportunities through the internships that the winners were awarded together with a cash prize.
