A minor student at the “Leonardo da Vinci” Institute in Milazzo (Messina) attacked his mathematics teacher with kicks and punches and even with a headbutt. He had just learned that he had failed.
For the entire duration of the school year his performance was decidedly poor. But when he discovered that he had failed a minor student of the“Leonardo da Vinci” Institute of Milazzo (Messina) he took it out on his mathematics teacher, attacking him with kicks and punches and even with a headbutt. The episode happened on Tuesday. The teacher ended up in hospital and was then – according to the Gazzetta del Sud – discharged on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the police identified the young man, who initially ran away, and interviewed some of those present at the attack.
“By law, after the ballots, when a boy is not admitted to the next class, we are required to summon parents to inform them. And this always happens, even if parents are updated on their children’s academic progress constantly and in real time, through electronic records. The class coordinator, therefore, summoned the parents who, from what they told me, took note of their child’s failure and left”, explained the director of the institute Stefania Scolaro, as reported by La Repubblica Palermo.
The student would therefore have waited for his parents to leave the institute to enter and attack the professor, under the incredulous eyes of those present. “From what I was told, the boy suddenly arrived, went up to the first floor and attacked the teacher. He also hit his head when he fell. It’s a very unpleasant episode and should be condemned. And we’re very sorry. Also because we have always sought constructive discussion, both with families and with students”, added the principal, who immediately after the incident alerted 118 and the police. When the police arrived, the boy had already fled. The teacher, however, was transported to the Giuseppe Fogliani hospital in Milazzo for checks.
