Tragedy last night in Prato. Massimiliano Grillo lost his life around 2.30am when he crashed into a tree after losing control of his motorbike while traveling on Viale 16 Aprile, from Seano towards Prato. At the roundabout on Via delle Pollative, the man went off the road (the causes are still to be ascertained) and hit a tree, dying instantly. In fact, the attempts to resuscitate the 49-year-old by the volunteers on board the 118 ambulance that arrived on site shortly before the municipal police, who took care of the investigation of the accident, were useless. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
The victim’s body was removed by the Misericordia funeral services and will be subjected to an autopsy to understand whether or not Grillo was struck by an illness when he lost control of the motorbike. Motorcycle which is seized and which will be available to the judicial authorities for the investigation of the case. Grillo leaves behind two daughters, one aged 17 and the other 20. Just a few months ago, his wife passed away due to a serious illness.
Numerous friends wanted to remember him on social media. “We greeted each other with a wave of the hand to Saint Lucia around 11pm… how is it possible”, writes Cristina Iannettone. “News too bad to think is true…laughing together just a few hours before…life is unfair”, Gaia Tofani’s message. “An immense regret. Hi Massimiliano, I met you in a moment of great pain and you always remained sweet, kind. A hug to the two girls”, adds Jennifer Giglio.
