Milan, 13 June 2024 – It continues successfully the partnership between Gente, the Hearst weekly magazine directed by Umberto Brindani, and the great international literature: after having immersed ourselves in the novels of James Patterson and the fascinating historical thrillers of Ken Follett (25 works released from December 2023), from Friday 14 June will bring John Grisham’s best novels on newsstands, the king of American judicial detective stories who, with his 49 bestsellers translated into 50 languages, many of which have also become successful films, it has sold over 300 million copies worldwide. We start with The partner, the legal thriller which revealed the talent of Grisham, from which, in 1993, the film of the same name was based, directed by Sydney Pollack, starring Tom Cruise.
On the occasion of the launch of this series, Hearst Italia has tightened a partnership with Editoriale Nazionale: This will expand the audience for John Grisham’s volumes, which will also be distributed in newspapers Il Giorno, La Nazione and il Resto del Carlino.
The initiative will be promoted jointly by Hearst and Editoriale Nazionale with an important print and digital communication plan on their brands and will be supported by a two-week on-air television campaign on Mediaset and Discovery channels.
John Grisham
In 1977 John Grisham graduated in Law at Mississippi State University and began practicing legal profession in Mississippi where, in 1981, he married Renée Jones with whom he had two children, Shea and Ty. In 1987, in his free time between a lawsuit and a trial, Grisham tries his hand at writing his first novel, Time to Kill, which was rejected by 12 publishers before seeing the light in 1988 with a circulation of only 5 thousand copies. A year after Grisham publishes The Partner, the story of a young lawyer who accepts the offer of a large firm that hides many secrets, many of which are deadly, behind a facade of prestige and great traditions. And this is precisely the first novel from which it was based Pollack’s amazing film, on newsstands with Gente da friday.
