Lieutenant Colonel Stefano Esposito Vangone, commander of the Carabinieri company of Bolzano, met the mayor of Renon, Dr. Paul Lintener, yesterday morning at the Carabinieri command station in Renon. The visit, aimed at discussing safety measures in view of the summer, underlined the importance of prevention and collaboration between institutions.
Mayor Lintener expressed appreciation for the effectiveness of the work of the Carabinieri in the area, highlighting the collaboration consolidated over time. Lintener also announced the imminent installation of new video surveillance systems, intended to enhance the operational capabilities of the local command and municipal police. These devices will be fundamental in guiding investigations and prosecuting those responsible for crimes.
With the arrival of summer, the population of Renon is destined to grow significantly, thanks to the influx of tourists and owners of second homes. Vangone, after thanking the Mayor for the trust shown, assured an increase in operational efforts. This will include an intensification of road checks, especially on motorcyclists, in key areas such as Spade Pass and main arterial roads.
Dog units will also be used for more detailed control of the Renon cable car stations, preventing the latter from being used as a channel for the trafficking of illicit substances.

Vangone also presented to Mayor Lintener a project, created in collaboration with the municipality of Bolzano, intended for elementary and middle school students for the 2024/2025 school year.
The project involves the distribution of a school diary containing thematic sheets on current topics such as bullying, cyberbullying, addictions and gender violence. students will be involved through graphic and literary contributions. Mayor Lintener welcomed the initiative, expressing interest in developing a similar project to benefit the youth of his community.
The meeting therefore reaffirmed the close collaboration between the Carabinieri and the local authorities, with the common objective of guaranteeing greater safety for the citizens and visitors of Renon.
