The Generation Film Fest, created by artistic director Nadia Carbone, is a film festival now in its third edition that compares the new generations with those who have made, and will make, the history of Italian cinema. The GFF was born as a cultural incentive aimed mainly at the territory and as an experiential stimulus intended for generations who love the seventh art. This year too it will be the city of Oria (BR) to host the event for three intense and beautiful evenings, from 11 to 13 July, at the Cloister of Montalbano-Oria Park. A program full of initiatives and cultural moments, where cinema will be the protagonist through the screening of films, afternoon meetings with professionals in the sector, free masterclasses that will allow you to discover the secrets of the trade and debates that have now become a creative beacon of connection between professionals and aspirants filmmakers.

In this context the territory and its artists become testimony to the place and time in which we live. “We want to give a voice to those who want to express themselves by revealing the secrets of cinema and granting them the narrative techniques of the visual arts” – says the artistic director Nadia Carbone – “throughout the year the GFF hosts workshops for anyone who wants to approach this fascinating world”.

In this edition, from 11 to 13 July, each day will be dedicated to different generations:

at 6.30 pm will take place Free Masterclasses to Martini Palace;

at 8.30 pm the evenings will continue at Montalbano Park at the foot of the Castello Svevo, with the meeting with the Special Guests of the cinematographic panorama.

We will talk about Cinema in Puglia on July 11th, Young Cinema on July 12th and July 13th about the Masters of Cinema. The Masterclasses will give the opportunity to interface with the Producer and artistic director Daniele Urciuolo talking about the making of short films with a Special on Lina Wertnuller; the director Tiziano Russo known for the series SKAM Italia 5/6 for Netflix will talk about the importance of dealing with social issues that affect the new generations on the big and small screen, and in the third and final masterclass, the screenwriter Gino Capone will tell curious anecdotes about historic cinemas in Oria, and on the directors who made it a location for important films.

The days will continue with talks and screenings that we will soon discover.

This year there is something new that will affect the GFF, the twinning with the FARA FILM FESTIVAL, an International Film Festival created by Riccardo Martini and directed by Daniele Urciuolowhich takes place in Fara in Sabina (RI) and which aims to promote local, national and international cinema, and to strengthen the link between the territory and the seventh art, both from an artistic-cultural point of view and as a strategic economic driving force for the sector. Over the years it has hosted artists of the caliber of Giancarlo Giannini, Ornella Muti, Riccardo Scamarcio and many others. This collaboration was born from the desire to create an artistic-cultural connection between two regions, Lazio and Puglia, which have always been cradles of Italian cinema.
