Yesterday, at the Basilica of San Bartolomeo Apostolo, in Benevento, the holy mass was celebrated which officially started the 2024/2025 membership year of the UCAI (Catholic Union of Italian Artists) section of Benevento.
The diocesan ecclesiastical assistant, Don Pietro D’Angelo, introduced the celebration by emotionally remembering Msgr. Mario De Santis, the first president of the Association who passed away ten years ago, introducing the newly elected president Angela Ilenia Adamo and greeting the national vice president for the South of UCAI, Giuliana Sepe.
In the homily Don Pietro called Catholic artists to be “artisans” of faith, hope and charity to whom God entrusts the mission of rediscovering true beauty through art, in all its expressions and forms.
At the end of the celebration, President Adamo spoke and offered a historical excursus on the association, recalling the aims of UCAI and mentioning future projects. The president also thanked the artists present who enriched the Eucharistic liturgy by each making their own art available and invited everyone to support UCAI with prayer and presence.
The national vice president for the south concluded by thanking everyone with words of esteem and encouragement, especially towards the president and the diocesan ecclesiastical assistant.
