Yesterday in Comiso the first appointment of the cultural festival dedicated to Gesualdo Bufalino, “The Engineer of Babel” with the theatrical monologue “Journey to Sicily” performed by the actor and director Alessandro Romano

The fourth edition of the cultural festival “The Engineer of Babele” kicked off yesterday in Comiso. The event, of great cultural importance, aims to turn the spotlight back on the Sicilian writer, Gesualdo Bufalino. To inaugurate the festival, the theatrical monologue “Journey to Sicily”, taken from “La luce e il mourning” by Bufalino performed by the actor and director Alessandro Romano. The President of the Foundation underlines that this year the contents of this year’s festival are focused even more strongly on the figure of Bufalino. The mayor of Comiso, Maria Rita Schembari, underlined the importance of the festival for the community and of Bufalino’s texts which allow you to discover yourself and the surrounding reality. Alessandro Romano explains that the show combines different texts by the writer that lead to the knowledge of Sicily. Among the upcoming events, the homage to the photographer Giuseppe Leone, who recently passed away, with the exhibition “Immagini per Cento Sicilie” set up in the Foundation’s premises with Leone’s photos, which document his collaboration with Bufalino, culminating in the publication of the anthology “One Hundred Sicilies” in 1994.
