Silver achievement for the rotisserie “The Golden Chicken”that the June 9th of 25 years ago for the first time raised the shutter of the well-known business in Civitanova Marche in the district of San Marone. An anniversary of great value that the Barbagallo family wanted to celebrate with a beautiful gesture of solidarity to share with the community: the delivery of 100 vouchers to the Municipality’s Social Services, which will distribute them to people who are going through a moment of particular difficulty.
This morning Salvatore Barbagallo, the wife Mary and the son Danilo were received by the councilor for social services Barbara Capponi who, on behalf of the municipal administration and the city, thanked for the donation, congratulating them on the long and much appreciated gastronomic journey that has always been accompanied by solidarity works.
“I would like to publicly thank Salvatore and Mary for this further gesture of solidarity, for which Il Pollo D’oro has always been on the front line, supporting the many realities of our territory in many ways. I congratulate you on this achievement of seriousness, passion and love for the Civitanova community. We also want to give resonance to the wonderful gesture of donating to those experiencing a moment of difficulty as good practice, with the hope that others will imitate the generous idea with a concrete impact on citizenship. It is an example of depth and culture of care for people, and it is a pride for Civitanova to have entrepreneurs who intend to celebrate the success of these years of work with concrete sharing” – said councilor Capponi.
They left Catania way back in 1999, the couple, supported by their in-laws Anna and Carmelo, chose Civitanova Marche to deploy all their volcanic energy by opening what has today become a typical Catania food business mixed with products from the Marche region: Il Pollo d’Oro, point of reference for the palates of Civitanova and surrounding areas. It was the first rotisserie in the city equipped with the original rotisserie with wood-fired oven for browning free-range chickens.
“This is a goal full of meaning – said Salvatore Barbagallo – we arrived in Civitanova as complete strangers, we faced many sacrifices and hard times, and anyone who has a business knows well what a world full of difficulties we encounter. But we also have the satisfaction of having done our job well and we are flattered to receive the appreciation of our customers, which stimulates us to always do better. Today, thanks to them, we feel more energized to continue and face the many opportunities that the gastronomic world offers by consciously looking at our past and reaching other goals. We thought it was right to share our joy with this gesture of solidarity, through the coordination of the Municipality’s social services, which we thank for their availability”.
Councilor Capponi then gave the Barbagallo family a parchment commemorating their 25th anniversary and a valuable folder of artistic prints created by the municipal art gallery.
