A kitten stuck in the engine compartment of a car was saved by the Rivarolo firefighters and then found a home. The episode that warmed the hearts of the citizens of Favria occurred late on Sunday morning, while voting was underway.
Mayor Vittorio Bellone, always ready to lend a hand, who took part in the rescue, tells what happened: «I was at the polling stations, around 11, when two girls, after voting, came to ask for help because from their cars heard a meow coming from them. With other citizens present we went to check the car and it was clear that the cat was in a place that was difficult to reach. At that point it was clear that the only people who could save him were the firefighters.”
The call to the Rivarolo fire brigade was immediate: «The intervention lasted half an hour – continues the mayor -, then the firefighters extracted a cat of just two months or little more from the engine compartment. The kitten, however, managed to free himself and run into the street, until he was recovered by the firefighters. In the meantime, a great chaos had arisen and a lady who witnessed the whole scene did not hesitate for a moment, adopting the foundling and taking him home with her. Soon, cared for by his new family, he will make all the visits.”
