The moment long awaited, much cherished, has finally arrived. Marcell Jacobs triumphs at the Olimpico in the queen race of the European Athletics Championships in Rome, i 100 meters flat. The Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion achieves his best result of the season, 10.02: a good time, not exceptional (it will necessarily have to be lowered at the Paris Olympics) but which gives security and confidence to the Fiamme Oro sprinter from Brescia.

Six blue medals
Six medals in one night Italy’s athletics had never conquered them, today it happened: of these six, three gold in 42 minutes (counting Lorenzo Simonelli’s feat in the 110 hs). The third step of the 100m podium goes to the British Romell Glave (10.06).
