Detections beyond the threshold
As the daily newspaper reminds us, which reports the news, according to the National Academies of Sciences the reference values in the blood that should not be exceeded to avoid causing possible negative health effects are 2 nanograms per milliliterand the same have also been adopted by the regional protocol.
Biomonitoring commissioned from below
The biomonitoring was carried out and coordinated in May by let’s cheer, Greenpeace Italia e Stop Solvay Committee and saw the participation of the hamlets of the Municipality of Alessandria: Cascinagrossa, Castelceriolo, Litta Parodi, Lobbi, Mandrogne, San Giuliano Vecchio and Spinetta Marengo.
In June the Province stops the production of Pfas
Just three weeks earlier, at the beginning of June, after the environmental checks by Arpa Piemonte, which certified the failure to comply with Pfas emissions into the environment, the province of Alessandria had sent Solvay (now Syensqo, the only plant in Italy that still produces “pollutants forever”) two warnings ordering the chemical plant to comply with the legal limits allowed for the discharge of these substances. The province also imposed a 30-day production halt at the Spinetta Marengo plant.
