Hudson (USA) – The 46th edition of the Sporting World Championship, held on the platforms of Hudson Wisconsin, has decreed the names of the new World Champions. The best amateur shooters from all over the world measured their skills by competing at a distance of 50 targets per day, from 27th to 30th June, for a total of 200 targets.

The Azzurri shooters of Technical Commissioner Veniero Spada were able to defend themselves well against their international opponents, collecting several medals among those made available.

The best among the Azzurri was Davide Gasparini from Gabicce Mare (PU), who took fourth place overall in the Open category with a score of 187/200. Alessandro Gaetani from San Miniato (PI) stood out in the individual rankings, taking silver in the Senior category with a score of 182/200, just one point behind the first place finisher.

Sporting World Championship – Senior Individual

Among the Ladies, Katiuscia Spada from Fabro (TR) almost reached the podium, fourth with 173/200, while among the Veterans Carlo Sestini from Empoli (FI) ranked fifth with a score of 168/200. The Italian Junior performance did not live up to expectations, with Jacopo Adamati from Rovato (BS) better than ours in 41st place with 151/200.

The greatest satisfactions came from the team rankings, in which Italy made its presence clear on the international scene.

The Senior team managed to bring home the gold with an overall score of 529/600 achieved by Giuseppe Calò, Alessandro Gaetani and Aldo Maltese, leaving the hosts behind at 528/600 and the French team in third place with 507/600.

Among the men’s teams, Michael Spada, Samuele Sacripanti, Micheal Nesti and Davide Gasparini took the second step of the podium with a score of 725/800, behind the US team with 736/800 and ahead of the French team, third with 718/800. Silver also for the Veterans team made up of Carlo Sestini, Giovanni Provenzale and Salvatore Valentini, who earned second place with 480/600, surpassing the American team by 10 targets, third 470/600, and second only to the French team, first with 488/600. Finally, the Ladies Katiuscia Spada, Veronica Bertoli and Alessia Panizza won bronze with 475/600, ahead of them were France with 477/600 and the United States with 513/600.
