Head-on accident between motorbike and car: a 54-year-old dies

AND’ Walter Belgrade the victim of the tragic fatal accident which occurred in the early evening of yesterday, in San Leonardo Valcellina, along the regional road 251. Around 7pm, for reasons still under investigation, the motorbike driven by the 54-year-old and a Fiat Panda collided collided head-on for reasons yet to be ascertained. The impact was fatal and the motorcyclist lost his life instantly.

The dynamics of the accident are still being investigated by part of the Carabinieri from the Meduno station, who promptly intervened on the scene. The collision occurred along a straight stretch of regional 251, a stretch of road that was already been the scene of numerous accidents, some of them fatal. Belgrado was thrown from his motorbike, ending up in a meadow adjacent to the road, several meters from the point of impact. The Fiat Panda also suffered serious damage.

The driver of the car was a woman who, despite her injuries, is not in danger of dying. She was Frpromptly rescued by medics who arrived with an ambulance from Sequals and transported to Pordenone hospital. The Maniago firefighters also intervened on site to make the area safe and recover the vehicles involved.

Gualtiero Belgrado was well known in San Leonardo Valcellina. His death left a deep sadness throughout the community. Belgrade he worked as a plumber and he was liked and respected, deeply connected to his family. He leaves behind two daughters, a sister who lives in San Leonardo and a brother living in Switzerland. Friends and acquaintances remember him as a generous person, always available to help others, and with a great passion for motorbikes, which he had cultivated for years. Ironically, Belgrade’s father was died in a tractor accident, a tragic parallel that affected the community even more.

Regional road 251 remained closed to traffic for approximately two hours to allow the necessary investigations and the removal of the damaged vehicles. The road was reopened to traffic around 9pm, once the investigations were completed.
