Dear beaches: the saltiest Alassio. Fixed prices in Taormina and Giardini Naxos

Summer is upon us but also on holiday dear life he won’t let go. Alassio or Rimini? Viareggio or Gallipoli? Particular attention must be paid to choosing the seaside location, evaluating the costs of the beach place since there can be a large price difference between one private establishment and another.

Thus an investigation of Altroconsumo which collected the rates charged by beach establishments in ten Italian locations (Lignano, Rimini, Senigallia, Viareggio, Palinuro, Alassio, Gallipoli, Alghero, Taormina and Giardini Naxos, Anzio). As? All 211 establishments were contacted by telephone and anonymously (as if they were interested in planning a holiday) asking for the rates for the first four rows for the week from 4 to 10 August.

Well what emerges is that treating yourself to an umbrella and deckchairs on the beach (always expensive) has become a real luxury in recent years.

Umbrella in the front row? Here’s how much it costs

Going into detail on average the first row costs 226 eurosa figure that is gradually reduced as the subsequent rows are chosen: in second class the average cost is 210 euros, 199 euros in the third class, 186 from the fourth onwards. But in some cases there is good news: in Lignano, Taormina and Giardini Naxos, for example, there was no increase compared to last year.

However, there were some adjustments in Alghero and Gallipoli (2%), Alassio, Anzio and Palinuro (3%), Rimini (4%) and Viareggio (5%). Higher, but in line with inflation, the increase recorded at Senigallia (8%), which still remains the least expensive location in our survey. Compared to last year, therefore, there have been small price adjustments.

The most expensive beach in Alassio

What are the cheapest beach resorts for holidays this year? Those who choose a front row in Senigallia will be able to pay 155 euros, compared to the 392 that must be paid to lie in the sun in Alassio, the most expensive location in our survey.

On the upper Adriatic another good choice in terms of prices is Lignano: here the first row costs 164 euros. Followed by the Friulian resort, Rimini (165 euros), Palinuro and Viareggio (209), Taormina and Giardini di Naxos (215). The pearl of Liguria is not the only destination to have skyrocketing prices: in Gallipoli you pay 289 euros for the first row while in Alghero 239 euros.
