The Italian telematic commodity exchange (Bmti) – a company in the chamber of commerce system in which the Emilia Chamber of Commerce – has prepared, together with Italmercati, the new service “The Shopping Bag”. This is an initiative conceived specifically for consumers who intend to shop for fruit, vegetables, meat and fish products in a prudent manner, identifying products with high quality standards at competitive prices, following, where possible, the seasonality of the product offer. Thanks to “La Borsa della Spesa” it is possible to find out, every Friday, what the fresh agri-food products are more convenient in terms of quality-price ratio among fruit, vegetable, fish and meat products.
Its implementation is possible thanks to the results of the monitoring that Bmti and Italmercati carry out weekly in the national wholesale markets and to the information assets that BMTI has at its disposal deriving from the processing carried out starting from the price lists of the Chambers of commerce or of the Single National Commissions which, in in a regulated and transparent manner, they formulate indicative prices and the relative market trend of specific product categories. In “La Borsa della Spesa” each product also shows a graphic indicator that corresponds to the ratings “good”, “fair” or “excellent”. This service therefore, through simple and clear information, correctly orients consumers towards purchases characterized by convenience, in terms of quality-price ratio and sustainability, fundamental parameters to allow increasingly responsible and, at the same time, accessible consumption. Furthermore, in “La Borsa della Spesa” it is possible to know the periodic performance of other markets such as that of cereals, olive oil, dairy products or eggs.
