“Virtuous justice but lacking staff in Friuli Venezia Giulia” (VIDEO-SERVICE)

“Friuli Venezia Giulia is one of the virtuous regions in terms of justice times, but this territory also suffers from a lack of staff, which evidently slows down the completion of trials.” These are the words of the vice president of the Superior Council of the Judiciary, Fabio Pinelli, at the end of a visit to the Court of Appeal of Trieste.

Pinelli underlined that “the objective of rapid trial definition times must always also be combined with a quality of jurisdiction: to issue fair sentences, it also takes time to adequately hear the parties participating in the trial and time for the judge to process his decision. We must always combine quality and response time of justice”.

The vice-president of the CSM also explained that “the CSM wants to come to all Italian territories to express a sense of closeness to the magistrates, thanks for their work and also to collect all the critical issues of the offices, within the competence of the Council or even of ministerial competence, and then transmit them to the ministry as part of a necessary collaboration between institutions”.

Pinelli then specified that in Trieste “there are the somewhat physiological shortages of the whole country, which are mainly in terms of administrative staff. The ministry is committed to this. Some competitions are underway to cover the vacancies in the ordinary judiciary. I think that from this point of view, which however is a more strictly ministerial area, there will be improvements in the situation within a reasonable time.”
