”The Parade wants to be one space of freedomOf free expression and inclusiveness. To be completely *safe*, those who participate take care of this space and do not engage in sexist, discriminatory, harassing and homolesbian-transphobic behaviors” write the organizers of the Liguria Pride 2024. After a week of events during the Pride Village at the Luzzati Gardenseverything is ready for the parade Saturday 8 June 2024. First the concentration at 3 pm and then the departure of the tanks at 4pm dto via San Benedetto, a stone’s throw from Genova Principe station. The arrival of the procession in Piazza De Ferrari is expected around 7pm.
The path of this year’s Pride predicts 4 kilometersnot all on the plain. Ccolorful arrivalsbanners, representatives of associations and citizens they cross the following streets and squares of the center of Genoa (resulting in road closures during the event): via San Benedetto, via Andrea Doria, piazza Acquaverde, via Balbi, piazza della Nunziata, largo della Zecca, gallery Giuseppe Garibaldi, piazza del Portello, gallery Nino Bixio, piazza Corvetto, via dei santi Giacomo e Filippo, via Serra, via de Amicis, via Fiume, via XX Settembre. Arrival is expected in Piazza De Ferrari around 7 pm, with the final speeches from the stage and the presence of BigMamaspecial guest already protagonist of concert at the Luzzati Gardens.
”We point out the went down via Balbi and via Serra and the climb up via XX Settembre. If the route is too long for you, we offer you two shortcuts. The first is the shortest route: from piazza Portello (passing via piazza Fontane Marose and via XXV Aprile) you can reach piazza de Ferrari where you can wait for the arrival of the parade. The second is the short route: from Piazza Corvetto you can take Via XII October and reach Via XX Settembre, where you can rejoin the procession to make the last stretch together” we read on the Liguria Pride website.

The theme of the 2024 parade is Queer Furywhat he wants scream anger at the worrying current political climatein which the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and women are under attack, but also marked by an authoritarian and repressive turn, by the demolition of the welfare and of the culture of common and public goods, from a militaristic and ethno-nationalist policy. A joyful anger as it has historically been expressed in the LGBT movement, an anger queer generative, creative, ironic, irreverent, provocative.
How to get? The departure is close to the metro stop, the Piazza Principe train station, and the arrival and departure point of couriers and coaches in Via Fanti d’Italia. If you are by car, the nearest motorway exit is Genova Ovest. You can park at the Interscambio Di Negro car park (at a discounted rate with the Park+Bus option and continue for one metro stop to Principe) or park in the Genova Piazza Principe – FS PARK car park (paid per hour).
