Assen was a completely forgettable weekend for Marco Bezzecchi, who returned home without even a single point. Today the Pertamina standard bearer ended up on the ground when he was even outside the top ten.
The bitterness is great especially if we consider that a year ago at this time Bezzecchi was celebrating on the podium of the TT. In the post-race Marco has few words to say and his face says it all.
“Usually, after a weekend like this, I swear a lot and try to let off steam, then spend a day of complete solitude – he said – you have to reset quickly without forgetting everything because it is not correct. However, we must not forget the work done and the mistakes by repeating what is usually done before each race.”
Bezz is asked if there has been a step backwards.
“No, there wasn’t a step back, but not a step forward either.”
Obviously Marco has no intention of giving up.
“My debut in Moto2 was perhaps more difficult because when I was doing well I still had bad results while this year I got on the podium in Jerez. Unfortunately it’s not a good moment, much less an easy one, and you can see it from the results as well as from my face, in fact I struggle to hide it since I’m not fast. It kicks my ass.”
