Accident: the pick-up crashes into a tree | Ogliastra

50 years have passed but it seems like an entire era: Mrs. Giuseppa Floris, a petrol station attendant from Desulo immortalized by the great Lombard photographer Mario De Biasi.

Mario De Biasi (1923-2013) was a versatile photographer: he was defined by Enzo Biagi as “the man who could photograph everything”. He dedicated many shots to Sardinia. On his first trip the reporter lends his eye to an exceptional journalist, the poet Alfonso Gatto; together, they will carry out a series of services on the island on Asinara, Capo Caccia, Tempio Pausania, Alghero, Sassari, Bosa, Cabras, Oristano, Cagliari; on several occasions they will then travel to various other centers in the interior and coast of Sardinia, such as Oliena, Orgosolo, Ghilarza, Desulo, Tonara, Aritzo, Arbatax, Baunei and numerous others.

His was a lucid and evocative gaze at the same time, capable of telling a controversial moment in Italian history with immediacy and originality. In the ordered plots of his shots we can in fact read the historical and cultural changes of the country, which in the 50s, 60s and beyond was settling on a renewed cultural identity.
