Among the many videos shot by private citizens and circulated on social media and in the media relating to the Natisone tragedya new one has appeared: the desperate attempt by a firefighter who, despite the terrifying flood of the river, throws himself into the water and tries to reach the three boys, embraced in that pose that has now become the symbol of this misfortune.
The video is touching: the firefighter, trained for this type of intervention, secured to a rope at the end of which are his companions, launches himself from upstream from the boys, in the direction of the river flow and begins to swim. It should be simple in theory, however, the current pushes him towards the shore or at least away from the rock on which the three boys were waiting for someone to come and save them.
After a few strokes, the heroic and athletic young man is forced to stop and return to shore. He will try again and again but in vain: Patrizia, Bianca and Cristian are unreachable by river.

It is the seventh day and, as from the beginning, eighty and more rescuers are working on site with various means, land and sea. Yesterday and the day before yesterday, hope had been sparked when a t-shirt and a pair of trousers were found: clothing lost by who knows who and dragged from who knows where.
It was easy to prove that they did not belong to the young man.
Today his family members issued a note through their lawyer, Gaetano Laghi, to reiterate that “they still do not despair of finding the young man alive” and “they express full confidence in the investigation opened by the Udine Prosecutor’s Office, convinced that any possible responsibility for the delay in providing aid to the three boys”. Cristian’s brother, Petru Radu, was there again this morning, among the rescuers, following the searches tirelessly. He asked that no photos of him or his family be published, he asks that the anxiety and anguish that “the whole Molnar family feels in these terrible moments and joins in the pain of the Cormos and Doros families” be respected.
While the investigations continue in the Prosecutor’s Office in Udine, of which there are no indiscretions, today the president of the Fvg Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, also intervened again: the rescue protocols “are national, it is right that the technical part carries out the assessments to understand if the maximum has been done with respect to existing protocols – he said – But I shy away from controversy on this issue, it would seem to me to be speculation that is absolutely out of place compared to the tragedy that occurred”.
