Alberto Alberti’s meeting with the citizens of San Bartolomeo al Mare opened with the introduction of Matteo Lupi, President of the Association that hosted last night’s event, who recalled the role of this important association.

Centro Sociale Incontro, an example of solidarity, sharing and spirit of initiative

The Centro Sociale Incontro is a reality with a considerable specific weight, not only on a social level: since 2002 the association has collaborated with the Municipality for the creation of events and demonstrations and in 2007 it signed the first agreement which allowed the creation of events and initiatives that have led the Municipality of San Bartolomeo al Mare to be awarded at a regional level. SBM Campus, European Music Festival, OktoBEERfest, literary presentations, yoga, awakening gymnastics, computer courses, karaoke, dancing evenings, excursions “On the paths of the Gulf”, exhibitions, international competitions, Candlemas Fair “Arts & Flavors of the Oak ”, concerts, Zumba and musical entertainment are just some of the activities carried out by the Municipality in close collaboration with the Meeting Centre, which only the pandemic has managed to limit.

After the introduction by Lupi – who thanked the outgoing administrators for the happy and fruitful collaboration of the Municipality with the Centro Sociale Incontro – Alberto Alberti introduced his entire group. Immediately afterwards he illustrated the program of Ora San Bartolomeo al Mare, talking about the seaside promenade, which after almost twenty years undoubtedly requires extraordinary maintenance; of urban furniture and public greenery, specifying that the environmental quality of San Bartolomeo al Mare depends not so much on the recent felling of trees but on the creation of two landfills (dating back more than 10 years ago) which have buried hundreds of olive trees . Alberti spoke about the valorisation of the hinterland but also about the redevelopment of the roads and paid parking, which in his opinion should be reduced and configured in such a way as not to damage the traders who work in San Bartolomeo al Mare.

“I don’t promise works, I don’t like populism – said Alberti -. I only promise my commitment and my presence, which is a proactive element and an element of final synthesis. We want to channel your participation in administrative life towards the realization of projects that will improve San Bartolomeo al Mare”.

Being a technician, Alberti often talks about planning: “With the contribution of citizens and without the need for political friendships, projects for large works can be carried out, receiving important funding, such as those we managed to obtain in Diano San Pietro, reaching almost 5 million euros”.

The questions from citizens concerned attention to detail, the bridge with Cervo, connections with the station, separate waste collection and the relaunch of tourism. “Civic education plays a fundamental role – said Alberti speaking about the environment and society -. We need to start from schools to design the future of the very young.” On tourism, the intervention of the candidate councilor Leonardo Ceresi clarified many doubts: the hotelier from San Bartolomeo al Mare retraced the history of local tourism, sharing ideas and considerations with Alberto Alberti and the citizens present.

Complimenting the Center for a series of activities that have characterized the social and recreational fabric of San Bartolomeo al Mare for more than twenty years, the mayoral candidate of the Ora San Bartolomeo al Mare civic list thus concluded: “We have already won: we have met many people who truly deserve the commitment we have put into this election campaign”.
